General Information

The Syndromic Surveillance Program oversees the collection and analysis of health-related data that precede diagnosis and may warrant a public health response because it signals a sufficient probability of a case, an outbreak of disease or other public health emergency. Current syndromic surveillance systems include the National Syndromic Surveillance Platform, ESSENCE, and the National Retail Data Monitor for Public Health Surveillance.
