About Us
Rural Clinics is a state agency within the Nevada Department of Human Services, Division of Public and Behavioral Health. We operate 16 clinics across 12 counties, serving Nevada's rural communities with accessible mental and behavioral health care. Clinics are open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (excluding state holidays).
Our Services
We provide a wide range of mental health services to ensure timely access to care, including:
Medication Management Clinic - Assists individuals in recognizing the risks and benefits of medication to manage their mental helth. Services include education about medication benefits and side efects, treatment planning and referrals to other services, and communication with primary care physican to ensure effective treatment of mental health through medication management.
Mental Health Therapy - Therapeutic interventions provided to individuals and families which are individualized for a presenting need. Families are always involved in treatment for children and adolescents.
Case Management - Assists individuals, including people in Mental Health Court, to gain access to needed medical, social, educational and other supports, including housing and transportation.
Psychological Testing - Provides psychological testing including psychological diagnostic assessment of intellectual functioning, executive functioning, personality, psychopathology to assist clinicians in treatment planning and care.
Residential Support - Coordination with community partners to provide rental assistance and other necessarysupports to maintain stable housing through state and federal grants. All residential supports are based on individual need in coordination with Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA).
Crisis Stabilization Teams - Provides crisis response and stabilization services to reduce emergency department visits by providing immediate support, crisis interventions, short-term case management services and assistance to hospitalization, if necessary.
Youth Rural Mobile Crisis Response Team supports youth (ages up to 18) and famlies in a bheavioral health crisis by stabilizing the crisis and connecting to community resources.
Adult Immediate Mental Health Care Team supports adults (18 and over) who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis by stabilizing the crisis and connecting to community resources.
Community Partnerships - Rural Clinics also partners with the Carson City and Elko Mental Health Treatment Courts and the Carson City Sheriff's Office Mobile Outreach Safety Team (MOST) to provide outpatient mental health and crisis services.
