The Behavioral Health Planning and Advisory Council (BHPAC) is the Bureau's main advisory body. The BHPAC advocates for adults with serious mental illness, children and youth with severe emotional disturbance, other individuals with mental illnesses or emotional problems, and persons with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders with the goal of improving behavioral health services in Nevada.
The BHPAC's membership is appointed by the Governor, and includes experts on behavioral health, people who have received treatment for mental illness or substance use disorders, their families or other stakeholders in behavioral health.
The Advisory Commitee on Problem Gambling works to improve the public health of Nevadans through a sustainable and comprehensive system of programs and services that reduce the impact of problem gambling.
