Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Account for Family Planning
Requests for Proposals - Due 5:00 PM, 2/28/2022

NRS 442.710 to 442.745, inclusive, define the specific family planning and/or other specified services (i.e., grant activities) that may be provided with these funds.
This NOFO is intended to solicit applications from local government entities and nonprofit organizations to provide the family planning and other services as described in NRS 442.725 to all persons who would otherwise have difficulty obtaining such services because of poverty, lack of insurance or transportation or any other reason; or pay for family planning and other services described in NRS 442.725, which are provided by a department or division of the Executive Department of State Government or pursuant to a contract with such a department or division, which may include, without limitation, a contract with a community health nurse, a consultant or any other person or entity. State General Funds are the source of Account for Family Planning funding. These funds will provide Nevada the opportunity to focus on the specific needs of the State to address gaps in the reproductive health delivery system and support positive health outcomes.
Applicants must be able to document the family planning and/or other specified services provided with these grant funds will be provided to persons who would otherwise have difficulty obtaining such services because of poverty, lack of insurance or transportation, or any other reason. To establish the degree to which these needs exist, applicants will be asked to provide information about the geographic service area specified in their application. Information may include poverty rates, rates of uninsured or underinsured residents, rates of childbearing-aged persons, and current sources of funding, including third-party payers.
