What We Do

The Radiation Control Program is the office through which the Division accomplishes the statutory mandate for Nevada Revised Statues (NRS) Chapters NRS 457 and NRS 653.

Pursuant to NRS 457, the Division licenses or registers approximately 285 mammography technologists throughout the state and is contracted with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to perform mammography facility inspections.

Pursuant to NRS 653, the Division regulates and issues state licensure to approximately 3,000 individuals engaged in radiation therapy, and radiologic imaging, which includes nuclear medicine.
