Medical Labs - Open a New Lab

Step 1 - State business license

State law requires that every person or entity doing business in Nevada obtain a State Business License or Certificate of Exemption. If you are starting a business, such as a medical laboroatory, please start your business with the Nevada Secretary of State's Business Portal at  www.nvsilverflume.gov.

When registering your business online with SilverFlume, ensure that you complete the Common Business Registration (CBR).  

Step 2 - Online Licensing

Like many other facilities, medical laboratories in Nevada must be licensed. Initial licensure (and periodic inspections) are conducted by the Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance. Many of these procedures are done through the state's Online Licensing System, which can be found at myhealthfacilitylicense.nv.gov.

At this site, you will complete the application for Medical Laboratories and submit with your application all of the required documents found on the checklist.
